Three Secondary Schools Football League players have been included in a 33-member Under-23 squad announced by the T&T Football Federation to begin training on Tuesday for a two-match series versus Bermuda Under-23’s next month. The players are Naparima College duo, Shahdon Winchester and Ryan Frederick and El Dorado East Secondary’s Daniel Cyrus.
Frederick and Winchester, both of Digicel Pro League club, W Connection were in Naparima’s team which blanked St Augustine Senior Secondary 2-0 in the SSFL national Coca-Cola Inter-Col semi-finals on Thursday and will meet El Dorado East in the final on Tuesday. Among the new call-ups are Ma Pau’s Trevin Caesar, teenage striker Jerrel Britto of Clico San Juan Jabloteh and United Petrotrin’s Stephen Campbell.
The players will assemble for training at the Ato Boldon Stadium on Tuesday from 4-6 pm. The T&T Under-23 (Olympic team) team will play for the Bermuda Football Association Cup when they face the Bermudans team in two matches on December 28 and January 1. They also face top Bermudan club Devonshire Cougars on December 30.
